How to photograph your car for sale
Clear photos attract more buyers and sell faster. Follow these steps on your phone — no professional camera needed.
1. Before you shoot
Wash the car and clean the cabin
A clean car looks newer and more valuable in photos.
Remove personal items
From the seats, dashboard and boot — including phone holders and chargers.
Wipe your phone’s lens
A small smudge makes every photo blurry.
2. Light and location
Shoot in shade or an hour before sunset
Soft light shows the true colour without harsh reflections.
Pick an open spot with a simple background
An empty car park or a light wall — away from other cars.
Fit the whole car in the frame
Stand a few steps back with the phone at chest height.
3. The photos we need
Just 4 photos, in this order.
1PortraitFront three-quarter
From the front headlight corner — this is the cover photo.
2PortraitFull side
Stand facing the middle of the car.
3PortraitRear three-quarter
From the rear light corner.
4LandscapeInterior
From the middle of the back seat, showing the steering wheel and screen.
If there is a scratch or a defect, send an extra photo of it — being upfront builds trust and saves time.
4. Walkaround video
One walk around the car (30–60 seconds)
Walk slowly around the car holding the phone sideways, then open the door and film the cabin with the engine running so we can hear it.
5. Avoid
Filters and colour edits
Buyers want to see the car as it is.
Shooting at night or in direct sun
Hard shadows hide details and change the colour.
You or your reflection in the shot
Shoot from a slight angle to avoid reflections.
Screenshots and cropped photos
Send the original photos straight from your phone.
Number plate: you can cover it if you prefer.
Ready? Send the photos on WhatsApp
Send them as a file (document), not as photos, so they reach us at full quality.
